I'm still here. No knitting lately. I was too busy getting ready for my evaluation. :) It went well.

Guess what? I found out about a little DIY craft place. It's in this cute historic house and it has sewing classes, glass, all kinds of crafts- no knitting though. So I'm planning on taking the BASICS class because I have no experience with sewing. Then I could sew CUTE little dresses for my baby girl and stuff for me. I'm sooo excited.

I'm planning on buying THE yarn for my branching out- no more practice yarn. I want to feel something incredibly soft and light.

Sewing is something I'd like to learn, too. Let us know how it goes!

Be sure to show us pix of your branching out project...with the "real" yarn.

Hi Astreia. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I'm all for you getting a group together at your church (to do Prayer Shawls)! Check out the Prayer Shawl website for some tips...there's also a book that's now available. Really, the group can be whatever you guys want it to be. We meet every week. It's very flexible (some people come in lat, some leave early, some miss a week or two). Our Pastor writes poetry, so he wrote a little poem that we put on a card & include with each shawl. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
