How on Earth do you watch a movie and knit?

I was attempting to watch Meet The Fockers and knit... Well, I'm not that talented yet. I was able to get about 5 rows done- but it was a bit difficult for me. I can knit while riding in the car just fine. I think my husband prefers that I do so that I am not involved in his driving mishaps. I am STILL in love with my Lilac shawl. It feels so good. I have OFFICIALLY decided to frog the other shawl. Now I need to figure out what to do with the yarn. I also bought the Vogue Knitting Knit 1 Magazine. I already have the yarn for another pattern (it's a cardigan), I'm going to be making that this summer. I was cold in the classroom today and realized it would be nice to have a cardigan...
I didn't go to the SNB. I talked myself out of it. I got nervous and felt I'd probably be intimidated by the expertise that I just decided to stay home with the kiddos. Maybe next time.

So does anyone have any tips on how to watch a movie and knit at the same time? Thanks in advance...

What a pity, I think you really should try to go to the S&B. Just give yourself more confidence, there's nothing to be embarassed of being a beginner. I've never went to a S&B myself, but that's only because I can't find any. Good luck with your knitting ;) and maybe you should just knit something mindless while watching movie, like stockinette sitch.
